A1 (ANOINTEDONE) is a powerful Christian hip-hop artist with a story of redemption and purpose. Born in Tampa, Florida, and raised in Jacksonville, A1’s music journey began at the age of 14 or 15, though his first venture into rap was in the secular genre. He would be lying if he said he didn’t enjoy making that type of music, but God had a bigger plan for him.

In 2013, A1’s life took a drastic turn when he found himself behind bars. While incarcerated, he wrote the song “Lord I Don’t Know”, which unexpectedly reached and resonated with people from all walks of life, even gang members. It was during this time that A1 realized his music could serve a much greater purpose—God was using him in ways he never imagined. This experience solidified his commitment to serving God through his music, and he has been 100% dedicated to his faith ever since.

A1's musical influences are as diverse as his talents. Growing up, he loved a variety of genres, including rap, R&B, and reggae. His mother’s influence is especially strong, as she could sing every reggae song on the radio, sparking his love for different sounds.

His journey led him to No Compromise Music Group after a powerful encounter with founder C-Dub at an event with Apostle Tally McCloud. Though C-Dub never saw him perform that day, there was an instant spiritual connection. After prayer and consideration, A1 knew that this was a divine opportunity, and the partnership was solidified.

Faith is at the core of A1’s music. He believes that without his relationship with God, he would not be where he is today. A1’s testimony is rooted in a commitment to never take his eyes off God, serving Him faithfully in every step of his journey. His music is a reflection of that walk, and his lyrics are infused with the lessons and strength he’s gained through his trials.

A1’s music is deeply inspired by his family, including his devoted wife and beautiful children, as well as his leaders, Pastor Earl and Tequilla Anderson, at Beyond The Walls Outreach Ministries in Jacksonville, FL. His music honors God first, and his desire is to inspire others with the stories of redemption, faith, and perseverance that have shaped his life.

One of the driving forces behind A1’s decision to walk with God was watching his younger brothers serve long prison sentences—one for 10 years and the other for 30. His own struggles, including the loss of his stepfather and grandfather, left a void in his heart that led him down a dark road, ultimately landing him in prison twice. But it was in those dark times that God's glory was revealed to him. In 2021, A1 was diagnosed with cancer, but through God's healing power, he overcame the disease in just five months. This miraculous recovery further deepened his faith and strengthened his resolve to never waste the gifts and talents God has given him.

A1 has already made his mark in the music industry with powerful tracks like “The Devil is My Opp” with Don B, “No Questions Asked” as a solo artist, “Praise You” with Mizz Purdie, and “Amen” featuring Mr. C.H.U.R.C.H. His upcoming projects include the “Prodigal Sons Return” EP, set to release in May 2025, as well as a compilation EP with Don B titled “One Accord” and a compilation album with No Compromise Music Group.

A1’s ultimate message is clear: through his music, he wants to show people how God can take anyone—a broken, flawed individual—and transform them into someone with purpose. He prays that anyone who listens to his music feels a connection to God and is inspired to give their life to Him or rededicate their life back to God.
